The Korea Foundation Cultural Center is opening special lecture series related to the special exhibition "Italian Style - dressing home." Three special lectures will provide an overview of the Italian design and cultural exchanges between Korea and Italy.

¡²Lecturers¡³ 1) Dr. Lucio Izzo, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul
Dr. Izzo has been directors of Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul, Korea and Tel Aviv, Israel to promote the Italian culture to overseas. As the first lecturer of three-lecture series, he will talk under the topic of "Art and Design in ITaly - Culture and Industry." It will be an overview of Italian design and industry, art and design(designer and artist education and art and design markets), and prospect of art and design.
2) Prof. Andrea Dichiara, Dept. of Product Design, IDAS, Hongik Univ.
Andrea Dichiara is a versatile designer, active not only in furniture, interior designing but as a design management consultant as well. He has been a director and master teacher of Industrial Design Course at Istituto Statale of Art ¡°Edgardo Mannucci¡± of Ancona from 2003 to 2005 and is currently a full time lecturer at the Dept. of Product Design, IDAS, Hongik University. Dichiara will tell us about the high period of Italian design focusing on the latter half of the 20th century.
3) Prof. Marco Bruno & Prof. Simone Carena, Principals of MOTOElastico
Third lecture of the series will be done by two principals of MOTOElastico(architecture and design studio in Seoul), Prof. Marco Bruno and Prof. Simone Carena. They are active in Korea and in Italy and some of their representative projects include "Heyri Theater" in 2002 and "Vera Wang" boutique in Cheongdam-dong in 2007. Simone Carena also teaches Digital Media and Space Design at IDAS, Hongik University and Marco Bruno teaches at Interior Architecture Dept. of Graduate School of Architecture, Konkuk University. They will present the results of 8 years of practice of an italian design and architecture office based in Seoul, Korea.
